A solar-powered device that broadcasts messages disguised as Wi-Fi hotspots. The project responds to internet shutdowns witnessed during 2019 protests in Algeria, Hong Kong, Chile, and Iran.

Core Concept

"Anyone with a smartphone can connect to it and leave their ideas, which will be then propagated around the area as a new fake wifi hotspot." These communications are termed "wave tags"—site-specific digital messages that invert the internet's ubiquitous logic.

Technical Implementation

The machine hides on urban infrastructure, camouflaged among existing antennas. It enables grassroots communication when governments restrict internet access, functioning as a subversive tool inspired by street tagging culture.
